Insider Tips:

  1. Seek State or Federal Congressional Assistance

Always let your Congressional Representative know you are applying. They want to help you, their constituents. Give them a copy of your application. They can track its progress. If you receive a low score on your application inform your legislator. They or their relevant peers will contact the cabinet members as needed to request additional consideration to your application for award. The program administrator will review your application and verify proper consideration procedures were followed. Focus your efforts on contacting the more senior members of your congressional delegation. They will have greater influence on the process.
